The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the postponement of the draw for the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations scheduled to be held in Cameroon.

CAF said on its official website that the draw for the tournament, which was scheduled for June 25, has been postponed, for reasons related to the outbreak of the Corona virus, and that a new date for the draw will be set at a later time.

CAF confirmed that it seeks, through the work of its committees, to make the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon a strong version of the continental tournament.

It is worth noting that the African Nations were supposed to be held this year before the competition was postponed due to the spread of the Corona virus.

The finals of the tournament will be held, as previously announced by CAF, during the period from January 9 to February 9, 2022.

CAF had begun sending inspection committees to Cameroon during the last period, to follow up the preparations for the start of the tournament, especially the stadiums and their equipment to host matches.
